Another gray day on the Oregon Coast. Watching the waves through the windows, I decided to go see if I could capture the gray. Instead, the sun blinded through the mist.

Cannon Beach Through Streaming Windows 
Haystack Rock 
Cannon Beach never fails to delight, regardless of the weather.
A steady blast from the south has scrubbed the beach clear of its dunes, down to hard-pack sand. Rain only adds to the Oregon fun.
The tides are higher than I’ve ever seen, nearly reaching the beach’s edge.

Evening in Cannon Beach
Suzi, Melissa, and I took a quick afternoon trip to Cannon Beach.1For once, it seems like we were the only ones with this idea. The beach was nearly empty. We were there long enough to visit Insomnia, walk to Haystack Rock, and watch the sunset. And take some pictures.

A Beautiful Day at Cannon Beach
Our family has a tradition of visiting the Oregon Coast to start the new year. This year’s visit was a combination anniversary and birthday celebration with outstanding weather as part of the present.
The lot of us took a bunch of pictures.1Yes, the picture of the chairs is a redo of last year’s picture. For that matter, the other pictures are redos as well, but no one seems to notice that as much. Not surprising, as photography is serious sport here.
