Normally, I have an agonizing time, paring down to ten pictures for my yearly favorite pictures post. This year, I don’t have ten I want to include.
May 2022 be a better year for all of us in so many ways!

Every year, I choose my favorite photos from the year and combine them into a single post. This is my 2020 edition. Like last year, I didn’t post enough pictures on Instagram to have a top nine.
My criterion is pretty simple: is this something I’d print and enjoy on my wall? Which begs the question: why don’t I print any of my pictures?
I understand that not everyone gets my photos. What’s with all those poles? And lichen? But, just maybe, something here resonates with you.

Every year, I post my favorite photos. Some years, I’ve been able to cut it down to my top ten, but not this year. For that matter, I couldn’t limit myself to fewer than eleven photos from Cannon Beach… :-D
Many years, I’ve also posted my top nine from Instagram, but again, not this year, as I posted fewer than nine on Instagram during 2019.
These pictures all make me happy. I could imagine printing all of them and hanging them on my walls.
I hope at least one makes you happy, too!

According to my yearly practice, here are a few of my favorite pictures I posted here over the past year. A couple of these actually have people in them. Sadly, I took only one of these in the second half of the year, and that was July 4th. Cannon Beach accounts for 40% of these.
Having posted more than nine pictures to Instagram this year, my “top nine” actually might have some significance.
It’s clearly time to take more pictures…

At the end of every year, I review the pictures I’ve posted here and choose my favorites.
The pics are in chronological order — this was my year.
Here’s my favorite animation from the year.
Do you have a favorite?

At the end of every year, I review the pictures I’ve posted here and select a few I’m most proud of. This year is no exception.
Enjoy!
And one animation, for fun. :-)
Do you have a favorite?
Update. Like last year, there’s a site that generates a collage of an account’s nine most-liked Instagram pictures. Also like last year, there’s virtually no overlap between the pictures I’m most proud of here and my Instagram #2016bestnine pics.
Okay, last year there was no overlap; this year one picture is in both sets. Alright, Gilly in the tall grass! To be fair, I don’t post many pictures on both sites.

Here, in no particular order, are my ten favorite photos I made in 2015.1This is the third year I have done this; I also posted my favorite photos of 2013 and 2014.
Interestingly, there is no overlap between my favorite photos and my pictures on Instagram that got the most love.2One reason may be that I don’t always post the same pictures on Instagram that I do here. Another is that people give love to pictures for various reasons other than artistic merit.
Arranged in no particular order,1 are my seventeen2 favorite photos I made in 2014.
In fact, they are arranged in random order. Refresh the page to see another order. Have fun! Do it again and again. ;-)
Last year, I was able to limit myself to my 10 favorite photos. This year, I couldn’t make the cut.

Carrying a camera with me most of the time, I take a lot of pictures. I take pictures during my bicycle commute. I take pictures when I fly. I even take pictures while I wait for my flight. And I post a bunch of them.
Of the pictures I took and posted in 2013, these are nine of my favorite.
Finally, I include my favorite animated GIF from the year.
That makes an even ten. Do you have a favorite? Did I miss your favorite?
