Another beautiful day in Hillsboro! I took a bike ride,1Only 22 miles more until 2,000 miles on the bike this year. exploring the Rock Creek area north of Highway 26. On the way back, I traveled the same trails as last week. I aimed the camera in the opposite direction to capture the sun peering between the trees, and then went crazy2I’m getting more comfortable modifying the pictures from the original. with Google+’s photo editor to make it look a little like watercolor. I hope you like it.
How was your day?

21 degrees this morning and I’m staying warm.
Btw, only 60 42 miles to 2,000 miles on the bike this year. I should easily ride that before the end of November, with another month yet to go in the year.

Today’s bike ride had such potential. I was going to ride my longer loop to Cedar Hills Blvd., maybe even extend it up to Skyline for some pretty serious (for me) bragging rights. And then I felt a couple of rain drops just beyond 185th. So I wimped, turned around, and got a hot drink instead. Mmm… :-) c[_]
It’s okay. I’m at 1,850 miles for the year. I still haven’t driven to work. But winter is coming.
And I found time to take some pictures at Rock Creek Trail Park. It’s not the first time.
The Underrated Benefits of Bicycling. I agree, on all points. What say you?

Another morning with a rainy commute, but today’s was more of a drizzle than a steady rain.
Yes, I learned my lesson yesterday: don’t intentionally ride through puddles. When I got to work yesterday, I could tilt my shoes and feel the water flow downhill. Today, the shoes I rode in are dry enough not to change.
I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.

After a couple of days off due to business travel to Arizona, I’m back in the saddle. Today was my first commute in steady rain in a long time.
Having dry shoes and socks in my DIY bucket pannier was great. A dry change of warmer clothes, though not necessary, was nice too.
Thanks to the blustery rain, I had a great tailwind most of the way into work. Maybe the wind could calm down before the ride back home. Hmm… The weather forecast doesn’t look promising.
I hope your commute to work is as enjoyable as mine. :-)

Traffic was especially light for my morning commute through Dawson Creek. The ducks and geese had gathered closer to the pond. ;-)
