Bike Ride to Cedar Mills Falls
I took Sage for a 24-mile bike ride yesterday.1301 miles so far this month. Correction 311 miles so far this month! Almost there. :-) Along the way, I stopped at a little wayside at Cedar Mills Falls.2Where Cedar Mills Creek crosses Cornell Road. What a great place to cool off and hydrate! :-)

Friday Lunch Ride
As threatened a week ago, I took a longer bike ride during lunch today: 19.7 miles in about 1:10. Interestingly, Google Maps says this should take about 52 minutes, but I think that’s driving time, not biking time.
And I had occasion to yell “careful” only once.
A shower and a great supper later, I have a wonderful, relaxed feeling. Ahhh… :-)

Longer Lunch Ride
I’ve been riding my new bike during lunch this week. Each ride has gotten a little longer. This ride would be the longest yet.
It looks like fun. Now I just need a day where I can take a long lunch…

Biking Recap for June 2013
With getting a new bike, and breaking and replacing my cycle computer, tracking my distance biked this year and this month got a more complex. Fortunately, the milestone mileages make for easy math.
- 165 miles — old bike, this year, including this month
- 75 miles — new bike, old cycle computer, this month only
- 62 miles — new bike, new cycle computer, this month only
Total for this year is 302 miles, 104 miles less than I had biked by this time last year. Unfortunately, I don’t know how much of the old bike mileage was from June. Through the end of April, I’d biked 95 miles. And I know I biked 137 miles on my new bike, all in June. That may be as good as it gets. The good news is, I have biked every day to work since getting my new bike, discounting the couple of days I traveled to Folsom for work.

Not Biking to Work Today
I won’t be biking to work today, the first workday since Fathers’ Day. I figure 633 miles would be a bit extreme.

Replacing of the Cycle Computer
I bought a new cycle computer to replace the one I dropped today. It’s time to record my miles so far this year.
- 165 miles — old bike
- 75 miles — Sage, old computer (not bad for having her just over a week)
- 0 miles — Sage, new computer
Total: 240 miles this year. And the smileage keeps increasing. :-)

Breaking of the Cycle Computer
Argh! A couple of days after moving my cycle computer to Sage, I drop it outside REI during a lunch shopping trip and the LCD fritzes out. Removing the batteries to do a hard reset doesn’t fix it.
Looks like I’ll be shopping for a new one. Maybe this one. I wonder if it fits in the mount already on Sage.
