Heather asked whether we wanted to go to Cannon Beach this afternoon. I think my standing answer to that question is, “Yes!” Off we went.
We took Mousse so she could have some fun off-leash time on the beach. Oh my! What fun. :-)

When we visit Cannon Beach, I like to walk to the south side of Haystack Rock to take pictures of the Needles. For this latest trip, it wasn’t much of a walk because we were staying at Hallmark Inn, just north of the rock. A couple of evenings ago, Suzi and I walked to take pictures.
This picture is interesting because Google+ automatically reviewed the pictures my phone uploaded, selected one, and edited it. I like the result!
Here are the original picture and Google+’s version for your comparison:

Suzi and I visited Cannon Beach for our anniversary. It seems like just yesterday that we were on the Oregon Coast for our honeymoon.

Our family has a tradition of visiting the Oregon Coast to start the new year. This year’s visit was a combination anniversary and birthday celebration with outstanding weather as part of the present.
The lot of us took a bunch of pictures.1Yes, the picture of the chairs is a redo of last year’s picture. For that matter, the other pictures are redos as well, but no one seems to notice that as much. Not surprising, as photography is serious sport here.

Today was our last day at Cannon Beach, at least for this trip. When we awoke, the day was gray, but there were more people walking the beach than yesterday when it was beautiful. We ate breakfast, cleaned up, packed up, and then took some group shots. The jump shots of just the kids worked out a little better than the ones we tried of all of us. Trying to have all of us jump at the exact instant the self-timer fired the shutter proved to be difficult
We walked along the beach into town, enjoyed a visit to Insomnia, visited some galleries, and ate pizza. Then, because Ashley and Carin arrived later yesterday, we went back to the tidal pools. The water seemed lower today, so we were able to visit rocks we couldn’t yesterday. ‘Course, I was also able to get trapped on a rock while a few large waves rolled in, the last one covering the rock I was marooned on, soaking my shoes and the bottom of my pants. The view of the sea stars was worth it, though.
Cannon Beach is a favorite destination of ours. We’re always looking forward to our next visit.
