Ashley is planning to take the next year off from college to work at an orphanage in the Dominican Republic. She’s started a blog about the adventure.I’m going to miss her, but am excited that she has the opportunity. I wish I had taken the time during college to go on a student missions trip.

The holidays are over
Wow! What a great Christmas season. Weeks of spending time with extended family and ignoring politics. Not much blogging happened, either. ;-)

Success — The Electric Motor Works
As threatened earlier, Jamison and I built an electric motor. We used these plans with great success. Our first attempt electric motor failed because we didn’t have heavy enough magnet wire — 21 gauge works!
Now to try one without a permanent magnet…
