Last December, my mom ran her first marathon. She finished fast enough to qualify for the 2006 Boston Marathon.
Today, she ran Boston.

Mom runs her first marathon
Yesterday, at age 74.75, my mother ran the California International Marathon, her first marathon. With an elapsed time of 5:12:26, she qualified to run the 110th Boston Marathon.
I’m so proud of her.
Update: Mom did better than qualify for Boston, she ran it!
