My favorite photos of 2018

According to my yearly practice, here are a few of my favorite pictures I posted here over the past year. A couple of these actually have people in them. Sadly, I took only one of these in the second half of the year, and that was July 4th. Cannon Beach accounts for 40% of these.

Having posted more than nine pictures to Instagram this year, my “top nine” actually might have some significance.

It’s clearly time to take more pictures…

The pics are from the following posts:

Quick evening trip to Cannon Beach

Late afternoon, Ashley knocked on my door. “Dad, are you almost done working? Would you want to go to Cannon Beach to see the sunset?”

In a few minutes, the three of us were out the door and on our way. We made it to the beach with enough time to hike to Haystack Rock before the sun dipped behind the waves.

What a great way to end the day!

Btw, a day that had started with another picture from my photo spot, across the street from the Hillsboro airport.

Rainy day sunrise

After dropping Suzi off at work, I observed my morning ritual of reading and relaxation. Headed home in the steady rain, I happened to look east. Rather than being the expected gray sky, there was a developing sunrise.1In the other direction was a rainbow, as high as you could ever hope to see. Mmm… :-)

Sunrise

Today we took Jamison to college. I got up early and headed for my morning ritual, getting a drink for everyone else, too.1Well, everyone else except Jamison — not sure how that happened…[

On the way, I stopped at my photo stop across from the Hillsboro airport to catch the pre-sunrise. Mmm… :-)
