    A man lingers
    By a casket still
    Filled with love

  • My Dad, the Half-Marathoner

My dad ran the Lake Natoma Four Bridges half marathon this last Sunday. According to the posted results, he ran in about 2.5 hours with an 11:12 pace.

    Congratulations, dad!

    Happy Fathers’ Day!

That’s my dad and mom many years ago, before I was even a thought in their mind. In honor of my dad, I’m posting one of his recipes.

    Snaz’s Salad Dressing

    • Good Seasons Italian or Zesty Italian salad dressing mix
    • ~3 tablespoons wine vinegar
    • ~1/2 cup lemon juice
    • 3 tablespoons water
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 8 ounces tomato sauce

Get a 2 cup liquid measuring cup. Pour in about 3 tablesppons of vinegar. Without pouring out the vinegar, fill up to the 1/2 cup mark with lemon juice. Add the remaining ingredients, mix, and enjoy.

Essentially, it’s the standard recipe, but replacing the vinegar with twice as much lemon juice and adding tomato sauce. Seems like a small change, but it’s much better. It’s a favorite in my house. We like it on salads and cooked vegetables.

  • Happy Birthday, Dad!

    Today, my dad turns 75.

I was going to write a lengthy, heartfelt post, listing all his good qualities, the lessons I’ve learned from him, and me feelings for him. Strangely, uncharacteristically, words fail me. All attempts have been pitiful and inadequate.

Let me just say I have the utmost of respect, admiration, and love for my dad. He is my role model and friend.

    Happy birthday, dad!
