My favorite photos of 2015

Here, in no particular order, are my ten favorite photos I made in 2015.1This is the third year I have done this; I also posted my favorite photos of 2013 and 2014.

Interestingly, there is no overlap between my favorite photos and my pictures on Instagram that got the most love.2One reason may be that I don’t always post the same pictures on Instagram that I do here. Another is that people give love to pictures for various reasons other than artistic merit.

Thanks! When I compare this year’s pictures with the last couple years’, I’m not convinced that my pictures are getting better, but they still make me happy and I enjoy making them.

I probably should have added in my second footnote that people have different measures for artistic merit, too.

I’m looking forward to another year of taking pictures. I think I’ll be buying a new camera soon. My Canon PowerShot S110 has never really clicked for me, even in comparison with the cheap Nikon point and shoot I used before. It’s dynamic range seems very low. I like the camera in my S6 and I like having it always with me.

I just think I’m ready again for something with a larger sensor. It doesn’t have to be fancy.
