Happy Earth Day 2013!
Yes, I know Earth Day is merely symbolic. That doesn’t mean it’s worthless. After all, the flowers we send for Mothers’ Day are “just a symbol” of our love for our mothers.1Hi, mom! :-)
In keeping with the tradition, I’ve changed the accent color here from yellow to a nice2I like it. green.3Sorry. It’s not emerald green, Pantone’s 2013 color of the year. Couldn’t go that stylish. Just be glad I know it exists. ;-) I think I’ll keep it this way for a while.
I guess this would be the appropriate time to mention that I rode my bike to work today and drank from Intel’s new reusable cups.4Yeah, yeah. Intel’s had reusable cups as long as I remember. Today, Intel eliminated the disposable option and got some really cool “sippy cups” that work great for both hot and cold beverages.
How are you celebrating Earth Day today?

Next thing we know, Intel might introduce reusable napkins a.k.a towels hung on stands at the end of the cafeteria, to reduce paper wastage in the form of tons of disposable napkins that are trashed each day. :-P
I believe the paper waste is being composted along with the food waste. I don’t know how that fits within the recycling metric goal, but I hope it’s helping.
Reusable napkins is an interesting idea. I wonder how many it would take to handle a big Intel site.
