My 3 Words for 2012

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions. But I like Chris Brogan’s idea of defining the coming year in three words. So, my three words for 2011 are:

  1. Family. My highest priority.
  2. Focus. Determine what’s most important and do it.
  3. Learn. So much to learn.

What three words will define 2012 for you?

Wow! I just got my head around finding one word for 2012 and shared it on Shirley’s blog earlier today. After she picked “Patience” due to the pace at which our renovations are moving… I added My word for 20121… “Faster.”

Now if I had to add another two more words for 2012 I would pick “Make Lists.” That will require me to do a couple of other things that are very important to get a meaningful list every day… it will force me to “Think” and also to “Plan” and “Make Decisions” as to what is most important. I have tried to avoid making lists at my own peril. So thanks for jogging me to add another couple of words to the year.

Ha! I *love* that yours and Shirley’s words are complementary. :-)

It sounds like your “make lists” and my “focus” are quite similar. Now let’s see how well we do with them. Judging by your blog, your lists work quite well.

As a dyed-in-the-wool ‘word for the new year’ person, I am so happy to see others do this too. In times past I picked a motto, a quote, a poem and a Biblical verse I wanted to define my year ahead. As you have noticed I have pulled back a lot and just relaxed into a ‘word’.

Wishing you well with your ‘words’.

    Thanks!

I think choosing a single word would be too hard. With three, I don’t have to worry about being “too focused.” ;-)

A verse is easy. I choose Micah 6:8.
