Longer Bike Ride

I had time for a longer Sunday ride today, so I made it fast.1There’s more than one way to justify a fast ride. At least I tried to.

There’s something unavoidably painful about hills. You can slow down and ease the pain, but it’s going to last a lot longer. I’m not convinced that’s a win. You can stand up and crank up a hill, but if you don’t judge it right, you’ll be empty before the hill is.2Besides, I don’t want to blow out a knee. You can avoid the hills, but what’s the fun in that?

Summary:

Actual Time Moving1:34:42 hours
Distance25.10 miles
Average Speed15.9 miles per hour
Maximum Speed28.1 miles per hour
