Hmm… I guessing even a little cooler, but I can’t remember. So let’s reconstruct it.
I posted it on Facebook April 20, 2009, at 12:08 am, with the comment, “Sorry. There’s not much of a view at midnight out my window. Lot’s of night sounds, though.” That suggests I actually recorded it shortly before midnight on April 19.
According to WeatherSpark.com, Hillsboro’s airport (HIO), which is less than a mile away as the crow flies, ranged between 37 and 76 degrees that day (wow!), much warmer than the normal high of 61.
So you could be right: it could have been about 65 degrees at midnight that night. But we wouldn’t call that “on the cool side” for that time of year. Instead it was unseasonably warm. :-)

Based on the cadence of the crickets I would say it was on the cool side – maybe about 65?
