Original post continues below.
I’m trying to sell a few items by Craigslist. I received the following e-mail this morning:
Hello
Thanks for the prompt response and i will love to make an instant purchase,so pls do withdraw the advert from Craigslist,i don’t mind adding an extra $50 dolls for you to take the advert down from criagslist so that i can be rest assured that am in hand of the item. I will also like you to know that i will be paying via check, and it will be over night payment due to the distance .You don’t need to bother your self with the shipment ok,i will take care of that.So i will need you to provide me with the following information
to facilitate the mailing of the check.
1.Your full name
2.Your mailing address be it residential or postal address
3.Your phone number.
Once again ,I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for
shipping
i will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the check
Have a nice day
Being the helpful guy I am, I suggested he send the check to his mover who could deposit it and bring cash to me. He’d save $50! ;-)
Wanna bet I don’t hear from this guy again?

I got hit from 2 scam letters trying to sell furnature for $175. I almost fell for it until I discover both letters sounded identical. I believe these letters are sent from a bot online and when replying to one of the scam request, the e-mail bounced back.
This makes me so mad and there has to be a way to catch them! I got the same, this time the email was kelvinbean@gmail.com:
Thanks for the prompt response. I have instructed my
account officer to mail (overnight) a certified
check, while you hold this item for me. Let me know
when you receive the check and I will have my mover
will come pick up at your place. Please forward me
the following info so I can issue your check . . .
1.Your full name
2.Your mailing address(Physical as Ups does not deliver to P.O.Box}
3.Your phone number.
** Please note that I will overnight the payment, and
you should receive it tomorrow. I appreciate you
holding this for me. Please delete the posting as I
am definitely buying it from you and it would be sad
for me to have the payment in the mail only to be
informed of the its sale**
Just got the second scam email today after I reposted something, and had originally gotten a similar message, but from a guy. I didn’t feel right about it at all and asked him to call me, which of course he didn’t. I reposted and got this email. I wonder who’s phone number that is? Or who mrobby0008@gmail.com is…mrob you…so obvious…

craigslist,a family friend recommended for my wife and I that we get
very good and cheap items here.Out of curiosity i just want to know
the condition of what am buying becasue i might not be available to
pick it up my self due to my kind of job but once i have your words
that it’s in good condition,I would have to make your payments posted
to immidiately. Please i would need your full name and address to
enhance payment delivery. I really appreciate your response anyway,I
